Single origin Fairtrade speciality coffee
A wonderfully bright and fruity coffee with notes of chocolate and blackcurrant. This coffee has a complex and juicy body with great sweetness and balance throughout.
The coffee for Archie's is grown and picked in the Huila region of south western Colombia and processed at the Timana Cooperative which has been Fairtrade certified since 2007. Today the association comprises of 170+ members, all small coffee growing experts with an attention to detail in what they do. This means the quality of their coffees really stand out from others in the Huila region at neighbouring farms.
The farmers and their families are supported by the cooperative through training, education, adherence to FT standards, and an inter-generational program called Inclusion Generacional which equips young people in their youth groups to explore new coffee processing skills - it's not often you find a community develop through coffee, but Timana is one of them.
Award winners for their specialty coffee, the cooperative grows over 80% of its beans in the shade at high altitude which leads to much higher quality green beans and habitat for native and migratory birds.
